The weekend of January 14-15 saw me in Grand Forks, ND working on my latest time lapse video project. I spent a couple evenings in and around the Ralph Engelstad Arena, which is hockey heaven for supporters of the UND Fighting Sioux Hockey team. The Minnesota Golden Gophers were in town for "Rivalry Weekend" so the place was hopping. I'll be honest, I'm not a huge hockey fan, but the good folks at the "Ralph" sure do put on a show! During the national anthem, the colors from the digital signs showing the red, white and blue turned the arena into a purplish, pink during this long exposure.
The place erupted after UND's tying goal early in the 3rd period.
